Exhibition Views across the oceans

With the support of the Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, cultural institutions of China and African countries cooperated closely to launch the “Guest Creation Program for African Artists”. The Chinese side invites well-known local African painters to come to China for creative exchanges, experience the achievements of modernization development with Chinese characteristics and the prosperous fruits of China-Africa cooperation, and write a new chapter of China-Africa friendship with artists’ colored pens.
In nine years, renowned artists from more than 30 countries including Ethiopia, Benin, Equatorial Guinea, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Lesotho, Mauritius, South Africa, Senegal, Tanzania and Zambia participated in the program. They created nearly a thousand works on China and Sino-African friendship and donated more than a hundred to the Chinese government.
With the strong support of the Ministries of Culture of China and Senegal, the Chinese Embassy in Senegal and the Museum of Black Civilizations joined forces again, taking advantage of these works, to organize this art exhibition “Regards trough the oceans – China in the eyes of African artists” and would like to dedicate it to Senegalese and African friends. The public can discover a brother country, distant in geographical distance but close to the heart, through the passionate and colorful brushstrokes of African artists.
