George Floyd : Mémorandum du MCN et du WARC
Le Musée des Civilisations noires (MCN) et le West African Research Center (WARC) s’inclinent devant la mémoire de George Floyd, ce frère noir brutalement tué par asphyxie par un policier blanc sous le regard complice de ses trois collègues. Le Musée des Civilisations noires et le West African Research Center condamnent vivement cet acte odieux dont la récurrence est devenue la caractéristique des relations heurtées entre les forces de police et la communauté́ noire aux États-Unis d’Amérique.
Le Musée des Civilisations Noires et le West African Research Center saluent la mobilisation de la communauté́ noire américaine et de toutes les autres identités éprises de paix et de liberté́ aux États-Unis, mais aussi à travers le monde, pour dire « jamais plus un genou de la puissance armée n’attentera à un cou humain ».
Les États-Unis d’Amérique méritent beaucoup mieux et ne sont point dignes de telles survivances des années les plus sombres de l’histoire de ce pays totalement aux antipodes de la « Création continue de l’Humanité́ » qui est l’une des premières missions du Musée des Civilisations Noires (MCN) et du West African Research Center (WARC).
George Floyd: A Memorandum from the MCN and WARC
The Museum of Black Civilizations (Musée des Civilizations Noires – MCN) and the West African Research Center (WARC) respectfully honor the memory of George Floyd, the black brother squeezed to death by the knee of a white policeman, while his three henchmen were complicitly looking. The Museum of Black Civilizations and the West African Research Center strongly condemn such a heinous act, which, by now, have repeatedly and seriously marred the uneasy relations between police forces and the black community in the United States of America.
The Museum of Black Civilizations and the West African Research Center recognize the mobilization of the black American community jointly with all the other human communities laboring for peace and freedom in the United States of America but also in other parts of the world so that from now on « never again will the knee of an armed police officer take the life out of a human neck ».
The United States of America deserves much better than this and does not deserve to again go through the darkest episodes of its history totally jarring with the « Continuous Creation of Humanity » which is one of the major stated missions of the Museum of Black Civilizations (MCN) and the West African Research Center (WARC).
